The South Africans' last game against Pakistan was abandoned today
after heavy rain made the outfield unsafe.
The match was called off at 1.30pm. The South Africans have now had
three matches abandoned and have only bowled 12 overs in the
tournament.
With Nepal beating Kenya at Asgiriya International Stadium, the South
Africans will now have to play in the Plate League. Pakistan and Nepal
now both have 4 points, South Africa 3 points and Kenya only one
point.
South African manager Keke Dali, speaking afterwards said, "we are
disappointed but this was an act of nature. The groundstaff were not
at fault on this occasion."
